The Grand Rapids Dam Breakers are an alternate persona of the West Michigan Whitecaps, the newest of our “Grand Slam Brands.” The brand is designed to bring awareness to the Grand River restoration project that is bringing excitement to our waterway. The project will restore the rapids back to a 2.5 mile stretch of the river in downtown Grand Rapids. The Whitecaps changed their name and logo to the Grand Rapids Dam Breakers for one game in 2021 and 2022, and will return again on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
A portion of the proceeds of all Dam Breakers sales will go to Grand Rapids WhiteWater, a group dedicated to revitalizing the Grand River and putting the namesake rapids back in the Grand River for everyone’s enjoyment. Visit grandrapidswhitewater.org for more information.
